Hurricane Katrina

Hurricane Katrina made landfall in New Orleans, La. on August 29, 2005. Flooding breached the levees leaving eighty percent of the city underwater. Those who could not escape the city spent their days finding relatives, seeking shelter and planning an exit strategy. The weeks following this tragedy changed the lives of its residents forever.
